Docker on x86 / AMD64

Standard cloud VMs. Native, not emulated.

The z4jdev/z4j Docker image is built natively for linux/amd64 and runs on standard x86 cloud VMs without QEMU emulation. The same container image can be deployed with docker compose, systemd, or a compatible container platform. The metrics endpoint, audit-log verification command, and notification configuration use the same application interfaces as the pip tier.

Ships with

  • Multi-arch manifest under z4jdev/z4j; AMD64 is the default for all common cloud providers
  • Single image carries brain + dashboard + migrations; one container is the whole control plane
  • PostgreSQL 17 or newer is recommended in this tier; configure the structured Z4J_DATABASE_* fields or a validated postgresql+asyncpg URL with the required TLS settings
  • Works behind Caddy, nginx, Traefik, and Cloudflare Tunnel; set Z4J_ENVIRONMENT to a non-dev value explicitly, then configure the HTTPS Z4J_PUBLIC_URL and Z4J_ALLOWED_HOSTS production requirements

Highlights

  • Native AMD64 build; no QEMU translation overhead
  • Versioned tags (z4jdev/z4j:<version>) plus rolling latest tag
  • GitHub Actions release pipeline builds, verifies, signs, and publishes versioned native images
